Imagine our surprise when we found an email from Brent Friedman, co-creator and head writer of Afterworld, in our inbox.
Brent graciously paid the AWT site some very nice compliments and then stunned us by asking if we would like to post some of the original scripts from AW. Not the scripts used by the actors in the episodes, better that that. The scripts Brent was offering were the pre-versions, or the original scripts before they were modified and shot as final.
An excerpt from that email:
Brent: "In some cases, the scripts are very close to the actual episodes. But in a few cases, various creative compromises were made -- shot cuts, line trims, etc. that move the episodes themselves away from the original intent of the writers. Off the top of my head I can think of a few episodes that are fairly different than what was produced -- #s 15, 25 and 35 just to name a few."
We are very pleased to be able to post the first of those 'original' scripts for AW Fans. To add an extra level of yummy goodness we've embeded the YouTube video for each scripted episode so that you can 'compare and contrast' the difference between them.
Once again, we would like to thank Mr. Friedman for this very generous peek behind the scenes of Afterworld!
