Reading the text, it looks like some kind of geologic report from a geologic column or drilling research, where they drill a core, and then examine it. I have no idea how that would relate to the fall, unless you were trying either to figure out what materials were in the atmosphere at the time of the fall, or something else. [end of edit]

I'm not a biochemistry guy, so i'm not going to say anything, but aren't most of those amino acids?

Anyway, I don't know if this means anything or not, if it was meant to throw us off (although I doubt that), or what is up, but I thought that this might be interesting.

So the scrolling data bit looks to be an iteration cycle broadcast on open c-band. I know someone else broke it out in depth, but I wanted to focus on these items:

iu 2000 & iu 5000 refer to HCG (Human Growth Hormone)

Ubiquinoine (Coenzyme Q10) : This vitamin-like substance is, by nature, present in all human cells and responsible for the production of the body’s own energy. All of the other chemicals mentions are amino acids of one form or another, most mentioned frequently in the afore mentioned USDHHS information relating to Downs Syndrome.

It makes me wonder if someone in the government were adding in all these extra things to our food and got the mix wrong. Then they initiated the catalyst which caused the Ubuquinoine to release it's energy in a new and interesting way...one that cause people to experience something similar to spontaneous human combustion.

That the EMP event occured at altitude is based on Journal day 17.

The emp/anomaly burst point/epicenter appears to be located at altitude somewhere over the atlantic. The given order of power loss:

1. Flights east (atlantic) to west (pacific).
2. Then satellites.
3. Then power at ground level. Most likely east to west as well.

These satellites operate at 11,000 miles.

Commercial aircraft generally cruise at an altitude between 5.6-8.52 miles

The order was: aircraft (5.6-8.52 miles alt), then satellites (?11,000 miles alt?), then power on the ground.

It could be that the electromagnetic field of the earth or something else in that direction *significantly* slowed the spread of the pulse in that direction. Regarding the strange rain.

An EMP at altitude would increase the ionization of the upper atmosphere as stated at

If this is what caused the *Apocalypse*, the larger question remains, "Why did it happen?"

The reason why must be linked to Episode 13 and the fetal reports

The technology used the world over, because of it's growing popularity and overuse, generated an electromagnetic field. It eventually got strong enough to interfere with the Earth's own electromagnetic field. This interference caused a shift in the Earth's field, which was just enough to knock out all technology on Earth. At the moment of the shift, the fluctuations of the Earth's electromagnetic field caused EM spikes at numerous locations around the planet. The manifestation of these spikes were in the form of "bubbles". As a result of these EM bubbles, energy surges were generated inside the bubbles. The energy was of just the right frequency/amplitude/wavelength, to shift any complex biological organisms into another plane/phase of existence. They still exist and are still alive, just out of phase with the rest of the people left on the planet. The people who were left after the fall are those people who were out of the range of the bubbles "edges", and weren't shifted.

I know only a little bit about genetics but here's a theory; Given that the population in Afterworld is <1% (less than one percent) of what it was before the fall; there is a strong possibility that one of the many possible survival factors is in fact genetics. But it may not be as simple as it being from one parent. If only <1% of the population survived than whatever genetic factor has potentially let these people survive may be a recessive gene.

Eg people with blue eyes have recessive genes. so here's my theory. In order for a recessive genetic characteristic to occur the offspring needs to have one recessive gene from each parent. I'm making an educated guess here that it is survivors that have the recessive characteristic (2 recessive genes) that has allowed them to live. if you do a punnet square for that offspring say it's Russ since at the moment he's the only one in his family that's alive.

According to my theory Russ has 2 recessive genes. Now that means Russ' parents are A) both carriers of the recessive gene or B) one is a carrier and one has 2 recessive genes or C) both parents have 2 recessive genes each. My theory is that only people with these 2 recessive genes can survive. So that means carriers cannot survive and anyone without these gene cannot survive. This makes it possible for there to be orphans (both parents would have to be carriers) The small amount of survivors supports this theory as its a recessive (non dominant gene).

For Kizzy and her mother, according to my theory Kizzy can only be alive if her mother has at least 1 recessive gene and if Kizzy got both recessive genes (one from each parent). If Janelle only has 1 (if she's a carrier) than she probably didn't survive but if she has two then if my theory is correct she'll be alive. Unfortunately knowing this doesn't answer whether or not they are alive as we only now that 1 parent (Russ) is alive. I'm probably wrong about this being the cause. I'm sure the writers thought of something more interesting. But if it is genetics my bet is its something like what i've written above.

If you dont believe my theories on genetics look up a year 11 genetics book. And also I do believe it could be terrorists but maybe its not what we think. Terrorists may have attacked the world using the very thing we cannot change. our genetic code. Maybe it's a combination of 2 things. that and terminating technology. I like the EMP theory. Like I said what I've written about is just a theory; i'm not intending it to be taken as gospel so please dont take it that way. I'm just one of many people with a theory
